7. Direction of sleeping in your bedroom
Although sleeping in a warm bed is a basic requirement, many people are unaware that the place where they sleep can actually make them feel unwell.
Ideally, the room in which you sleep should be warm and sunny and not have a low ceiling. Sunlight rooms have no humidity, good hygiene and are ideal for physical growth and health care. In addition, it is simply pleasant to be in the room. In the city, there are many people who live in rooms with no sunlight because when they open the window, it is either the window of a neighbour’s house or the wall of a building.
Also, the ceiling should be at least 2m 60cm high. Sleeping in a room with a low ceiling is not very favourable for health. This is because people exhale carbon dioxide gas while sleeping, so it is better to have some space in the room.
Houses today are sealed and not very cold, but it is also important that there are no drafts. It seems that it is harder for cold air to get in if the room you sleep in has higher level windows rather than floor to ceiling windows. Higher than waist height windows are preferable.
The location (direction) of the bedroom in the house should ideally be changed according to age. By age group.
- birth to early 20s.
; The Southeast room helps physical growth. The morning sun helps the child to grow healthily.
- from late 20 to 40 years of age.
; South-facing rooms are more comfortable. At the age when the body is most active, the morning sun can be too warm and can be a source of overactivity. Rooms that are not too warm in the early hours of the morning are ideal.
- From the age of 50 to later years.
; a room in the south-west is probably best. Ideally, there should be no windows on the west side. A room exposed to the afternoon sun is hot and difficult for the generation that is losing strength. They will lose energy to regulate their body temperature, which may shorten their life span.
It is important to know that you should not sleep in a north-facing room. Not only does the lack of sunlight prevent your body from getting warm, it also makes you more susceptible to cold and pain in the joints of the body. For pregnant women, the probability of having a child with epileptic seizures is extremely high.
We often see people who don’t care about north-facing rooms because they only sleep there, or because they have underfloor heating, which makes them warmer. Humans are a living thing. Even flowers will not grow in a north-facing room. Even though this is something they would normally understand, many people don’t seem to think about such things at all, perhaps because they think that only humans are the “lord of all creation”.
